Cardiac Valves and Heart Sounds discusses the basic anatomy of the adult cardiac valve system, differentiates atrioventricular (AV) and semi lunar (SL) valves, the function of each in relation to heart sounds, and their location. Heart sound types are also briefly described (s1, s2, s3, s4, and murmurs).
