Special Guest  John Stanton

On Made for Success, host Chris Widener takes you behind the scenes to get to know the
person behind the personality. In this episode, Chris introduces you to John W. Stanton, a
leader in the wireless communications industry with over 20 years of experience in creating
and managing wireless companies. Stanton confounded the first large wireless communications
company in the United States, McCaw Cellular Communications, where he served as COO and
vice chairman until forming his own wireless company. In 1992, Stanton became director of
Western Wireless, which in 1994 formed VoiceStream Wireless – its PCS subsidiary. Stanton
led VoiceStream from a small regional wireless company to one of the fastest growing national
wireless companies, now known as T-Mobile. Stanton currently serves as chairman of T-Mobile
USA and as chairman, director, and CEO of Western Wireless Corp. Stanton also serves as a
board member of Advanced Digital Information Corporation and Columbia Sportswear and as
