He has also served as lead negotiator between the insurance industry and Congress and federal agencies as director of the Superfund Improvement Project for the American Insurance Association, ensuring that funds were properly used to clean up the nation’s hazardous waste sites. Mike has also dedicated his time and energy to improving the educational opportunities of the children of Washington State serving on the boards of the Alliance for Education, the Partnership for Early Learning, and the University of Washington Foundation. In his spare time, he is campaigning for a 2006 Senate position.
